Hello and welcome

There are times in life when we feel overwhelmed and confused. Life stress, pressures and difficulties can occur at any time, and perhaps we feel unable to cope. Sometimes we may simply feel stuck.

 

Nick Coleman and Jo Law are two experienced psychotherapists who offer bespoke therapeutic counselling support, from their homes in Halesworth and Rumburgh respectively.

 

They offer warm, safe and confidential spaces, where you can explore any difficulties you may be experiencing. Both locations are easily accessed, either with off-road parking or carparks close by.

I am a professionally accredited

Family & Systemic Psychotherapist, working collaboratively with individuals, couples, or families. I offer talking therapy and equine-assisted therapy.

 

Together, we can explore where problems are arising and begin to look at how desired change can happen.

 

For many, starting therapy can be daunting. I aim to provide a safe, nurturing space where healing and new ways of being can evolve. ​

Nick Coleman

I trained in the Humanistic Integrative school of psychotherapy. In that tradition, the relationship between client and therapist governs the course of the work done: it is my practice to find ways to work with each individual as an individual and not as a “type”. One size does not fit all.

 

We do the work together, whether that means exploring the past, examining the present or addressing longstanding habits or processes that give rise to undesired ways of feeling.

Individual psychotherapy is a therapeutic process where a trained mental health professional works one-on-one with a client to address psychological or emotional issues.

 

This personalised treatment aims to understand and manage a person’s specific concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or relationship problems, by exploring thoughts, behaviors, and feelings in a safe environment. Therapists use various approaches, like cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or humanistic techniques, to help clients gain insight, develop coping skills, and foster personal growth.

 

The confidential, supportive setting encourages clients to openly discuss issues, ultimately promoting mental health and helping them lead a more fulfilling life.

Couple psychotherapy, or couples therapy, is a form of counseling where a trained therapist helps partners improve their relationship by addressing conflicts, communication issues, or emotional disconnect.

 

This therapy focuses on understanding each person’s perspective, exploring underlying patterns and dynamics, and building healthier ways to interact. Couples therapy may use various approaches, such as emotionally focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, or systemic therapy, to strengthen the partnership.

 

Through guided sessions, couples learn skills to resolve conflicts, express needs, and rebuild trust, aiming for a more satisfying, supportive relationship that better meets both partners’ emotional and relational needs.

Family therapy is a type of counseling where family members work together with a therapist to improve communication, solve conflicts, and strengthen their connections.

 

It’s a safe space to talk about challenges like parenting struggles, sibling disagreements, or life changes and how they affect the family as a whole.

 

Through various exercises and conversations, family members learn to understand each other’s perspectives, express feelings more openly, and create healthier patterns.

 

The goal is to build a happier, more supportive family environment where everyone feels heard, understood, and valued, helping each person thrive as part of a stronger, more connected family.

04.

Equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP), is a therapeutic approach that utilises horses to help individuals explore emotional, behavioural, and relationship patterns.

 

It involves a qualified mental health professional and a small herd of horses, working together with clients, to facilitate the therapeutic process.

 

The horse's presence and behaviours act as a catalyst for self-awareness, insight and future desired change.

​

Horses react to human emotions and body language, providing immediate, non-verbal feedback that can help individuals become more aware of their own patterns and feelings. 

Clients can explore a range of issues, such as anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship problems, and other mental health concerns, in a safe and supportive environment.
